Firebending

So, I'm a bad fan and I watched Legend of Korra first then backtracked and watched Avatar.

And I created Hotaru's new outfit before watching the first show, so then I got to book 2 and fkgnzdfkgjfdn I like how her tights are suppose to be balls of random colors and then when Aang and Zuko learn about firebending the real way, and the fire is mixed with a bunch of different colors... it's really... neat. I unintentionally did that, and it's like Hotaru is secretly supporting the old ways of firebending, without even realizing it.

Now, I think I'm finally going to do something involving Hotaru's firebending. Even though she doesn't really use it, I was thinking maybe she has a connection to the Sun Warriors and because of that, her fire would start to change it's color, mainly because she fights without the anger and has never really experience pain and anger the way a lot of other firebenders have. I haven't decided on what color, but I'm going to try drawing it, mayhaps?

But, I would like an opinion. Is this too mary-sue-ish? I don't want to go into that relm and I feel like just having a firebender that has a different colored fire is making her a mary-sue but... to be honest... Hotaru seems kind of... boring without something to pop out at people? Maybe because of the different color in her fire, she gets cocky and starts showing it off, but it's not in control, and she really needs to find a firebending master without anyone in her family knowing, but she has internal conflict like 'i'm betraying them! i told them i'd never firebender NOOOOOOOO-- BUT IT'S SO COOL LOOKING. IT'S NOT LIKE NORMAL BENDING! 8D'

I'm not sure so, opinions, please? Would be nice and appreciated, please? ^^
